Tunis/Tunisia — Over 350 tourist flights from Central and Eastern Europe are scheduled for June, National Office of Tunisian Tourism (ONTT) Director Moez Belhassine said Sunday.
Further flights are expected for July if the health situation improves and if the imposed travel restrictions by some countries allow it, he explained to TAP.
Belhassine indicated in this regard, that contacts have been established with the countries that have chosen Tunisia as a destination for the summer holidays to ease the entry and departure procedures.
Since the resumption of tourist flights on April 19, Tunisia has been the destination of 81 flights from Central and Eastern Europe.
The The ONTT has been doing its utmost to ensure the safety of hotel units and tourist areas, through the vaccination of hotel, travel agency and restaurant employees, in addition to tourist guides, he assured.
The office is also seeing to the strict enforcement of the health protocol at the airport, the transport means and hotels.
Regarding the promotion of the Tunisian destination, the official underlined that a meeting had been held with the professional federations and the competent structures to present preferential offers to Tunisians abroad to encourage them to spend their holidays at home.
He pointed out in this connection, the importance of domestic tourism, saying that in December 2020, an agreement had been signed between the ONTT and the professional federations to allow Tunisians to benefit from reductions and advantages.
