Following on the release of its travel program assessment tool, the Travel and Meeting Society has developed a sortable list of business travel technology suppliers, the organization told BTN.
Users of the “travel technology navigator” can narrow a search by pre-trip, on-trip or post-trip filters, or click on any of the tool’s 19 supplier categories, including online booking tools, meetings and events, expense management tools, payment methods, reshopping tools and gamification options. The list links either to the supplier’s website or a definition of the term, such as cryptocurrency.
“At one point, we had 28 categories,” said Karoline Mayr, co-chair of the TAMS technology committee and founder and principal consultant of Get Travel Solutions. “We combined categories where it made sense.”
The supplier lists were built with the input of committee members, TAMS leaders and other members, then vetted. The list is not comprehensive, and Mayr noted a link at the bottom of the tool lets suppliers ask to be included.
“We realize it will change, and this is just version one,” she added. “We had to make choices on what [we were] including and why. We are definitely open—if someone is missing, we can put them on. We hope to keep building on it.”
